47099816611_db3c28a172_kSquirrel! We’ve given up on bird feeders for now. Bears tear them down, and squirrels raid them, too. Now we just spread seed out on a bench on the deck, and for the most part squirrels get it. Picture made Feb. 14, 2019, through a living room window. 42719897821_5124af70f1_kSerengeti Pit Stop. There are no amenities at the eastern entrance to Serengeti National Park. The official eastern Naabi Hill Gate is another 25km to the west; this is just a flat place to stop so weary riders can stretch at the dividing frontier between the national park to the west and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the east. The dry season of an East African winter has begun. Image made June 22, 2017. Nikon D500 AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED [II], ƒ/16, 18mm (DX 27mm), 1/1000th sec., ISO 400.
