A Dec. 14, 2015, trip to the Cahas Knob Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Franklin County view the Geminid meteor shower. Too much ambient light from Rocky Mount, too much moonlight and too few meteorites, but I did catch one, just to the left of center here. Taken at 12:40 a.m. Nikon D7100. RAW. Rokinon f/3.5 8mm (12mm DX) lens. ISO 3200. +1EV. f/3.5. 17.4 secs.
